  9. SimpleFind3 (short SF3) is a Search-Tool for your Amiga.

  11. Features
  12.   - allows searching by name, comments, size, date, protections bits,
  13.     contents and datatype
  14.   - easy to use
  15.   - Indexfiles to speed up searching
  16.   - easy to use
  17.   - allows to copy, delete, view and rename
  18.   - configurable Buttons and PopupMenu
  19.   - have I said that it is easy to use ?
  20.   - complete shell support
  21.   - support Archivers (LHa and LZx)
  22.   - support Dearchivers (LHa, LZx, Zip and TGZ)
  23.   - even can scan inside archives (LHa and LZx only)
  24.   - simple ARexx Port
  25.   - heavy use of sub processes (Multitasking)
  26.   - and much more useful things, just try it...

  28. Changes made since SimpleFind version 2.5:
  29.   - rewrote many parts
  30.   - biggest visual change is that it support presetable Search Groups
  31.     and it needs MUI (at least for now)
  32.   - better multitasking
  33.   - new ARexx Interface, new Shell Template,...

  36.   - now the groups aren't saved automatically before quitting
  37.     if not wanted
  38.   - New Window: Groupsettings
  39.   - like in SimpleFind 2.5, options can now be hidden
  40.     but also resorted (Groupsettings)
  41.   - Output format can be defined per group now

  43.   - no longer uses the ARexx Port created by MUI but instead
  44.     it uses an own (old MUI commands are supported)
  45.   - SYNC/S and APPEND/S argument in STARTSEARCH arexx command
  46.   - several new script start events with possiblity to
  47.     start them syncron (Groupsettings)
  48.   - Multiple Indexfiles can be selected in the Indexmanager
  49.   - uses workbench.library version 44 to start WB programms

  52. Attention!! Please read this carefully!

  54. SF3 has been completly rewritten and neighter the ARexx Port
  55. nor the prefs format is compatible with earlier SimpleFind
  56. versions.
  57. Also some of the features which SimpeFind had are missing currently
  58. (e.g. the Auto Index Updating function). If you realy need them, use the
  59. old SimpleFind instead (using both SimpleFind's is also possible, but
  60. the prefsnames must not be the same)
  61. Of course, because of the rewritting, I introduced new bugs.

  64. Note that SimpleFind3 currently requires at least OS 3.0 (and will ever
  65. requiere OS 3.0) and MUI 3.8 (however, I hope to chance this in the
  66. future).
